The Coin Controls C220 Electronic Coin Mech with Front Load/Front Reject - Pinball Programmed is a United Kingdom manufactured coin mechanism.
The coin mechanism is programmed to accept Australian 20 cents, $1 and $2 coins for operation with Arcade Pinball machines.
These Pre-programmed Coin Control Channels are:
Channel 1 - 20c
Channel 2 - $1
Channel 3 - $2
5 Additional Channels are also availble and can be programmed.
The Coin Controls C220 Electronic Coin Mech utilizes several methods to identify and validate different coins, primarily using mechanical checks and optical sensors:
<b>Coin diameter & thickness:</b> Coin mech has sensors to measure the diameter and thickness of the inserted coin. These measurements are compared to pre-programmed values for valid Australian coins (20 cents, $1, $2).
<b>Weight:</b> The coin mech can also weigh the inserted coin, adding another layer of validation. Each valid coin has a specific weight within a tolerance range.
The unit comes with a 15 pin parallel interface primarily used for connecting the coin mech to the main logic board of a pinball machine and a 6 pin serial interface (typically RS-232 protocol) used for additional features or external devices, such as: Remote coin counters, Auditing systems amd External controllers.
